Peer Review
Structural Peer Review is normally performed after completion of the Contract Documents Phase, but before the start of construction. It can, however, be performed in phases, similar to design services.
The advantage of the latter is that structural concepts can be reviewed during Design Development and revised, if necessary, at a more appropriate stage.
The objective of peer review is to determine if the structural plans and specifications for the project are in compliance with the structural requirements of the applicable building code or codes and any other special requirements agreed to as part of the design.
This review is limited in scope and will be conducted to the extent necessary to render an opinion regarding the stability and integrity of the Primary Structural System of the Project.
